Cvent announces top meeting destinations and hotels in Europe for 2023
London, England, is the number one meeting destination in Europe. For the top meeting hotel, however, you’ll have to go to the W Barcelona in Spain.
That is according to rankings unveiled this week by Cvent, an industry-leading meetings, events and hospitality technology provider. The lists – which also include regional rankings for North America, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa – were compiled based on sourcing activity through the Cvent Supplier Network, one of the world’s largest venue-sourcing platforms.
Rounding out the top five meeting destinations are:
- Barcelona, Spain
- Paris, France
- Madrid, Spain
- Lisbon, Portugal
The other top five meeting hotels include:
- Madrid Marriot Auditorium Hotel & Conference Center
- Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile
- Melia Castilla, Madrid
- Hilton Prague
This is the first time the lists have been published since the beginning of the pandemic in 2020. Graham Pope, Cvent vice president of international sales, said it is more important than ever to recognize the role the meetings and events industry plays in the global economy.
“The critical role the meetings and events industry plays in bolstering local economies worldwide was never more apparent than when that business model disappeared overnight during the pandemic,” he said. “Fortunately, destinations and hotels alike have seen a dramatic comeback from pandemic lows as they benefitted from the pent-up demand for in-person experiences.
