ProColombia says strategic location highlights Colombia’s international connections
With more than 900 flights per week (including six direct flights from Frankfurt to Bogota) and ports on both the Atlantic and Pacific coasts, Colombia is strategically placed to become an international destination for meetings and events industry groups of all kinds.
Airlines have added 14 new international routes in 2023 to destinations including Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, the U.S., Mexico, Aruba and Switzerland.
The capital city, Bogota, is the economic, academic and cultural centre of Colombia. It is home to 60% of the country’s academic institutions and is considered the country’s central business hub, as it hosts the highest number of foreign companies and about 20% of national companies. The city has more than 50 versatile meeting and event venues along with 30,000 hotel rooms.
Venues include the Corferias International Convention Centre, with 23 exhibition halls, 65,000 square metres of multipurpose space on five floors and 18 meeting rooms. The top floor alone has space for up to 4,000 people.
