Seoul Tourism Organization focuses on growth

The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Convention Bureau have announced the meetings and events industry support plan for 2022. A total budget of $2.2 million (USD equivalent) will be put towards timely support for the recovery of the meetings industry this year.
Support efforts include various aspects of the industry, such as providing safe and secure environments for events, digitalising exhibitions, presenting a special Seoul experience to international participants and fostering prospective meetings industry case studies. The bureau will also enhance subvention for attracting, hosting and organising international conferences - whether it be face-to-face or hybrid - while offering a 3D virtual meetings and events platform at no charge.
“It is inevitable that providing safety is our top priority at all times,” said Jin Hyeok Park, director of the Seoul Convention Bureau. “At the same time, the bureau is doing the best to support the development of the industry to meet the needs of event planners and participants who have experienced the advantages of the digitalised meetings industry. We need to move forwards together.”
